The Stuttgart-based communications agency for live experience and brand communication follow red has reached the next milestone on its way to greater sustainability with the publication of its declaration to the German Sustainability Code (DNK). “Think Green. “Be Red” is the name of her initiative, with which she wants to further strengthen ecological, economic and social aspects within the agency and in event and communication-related customer projects.

With their sustainability declaration at the Code, the Stuttgart-based communications experts at follow red have published a comprehensive declaration of all sustainability-related activities. Since August 2022, the website of the Code can be read. In a process that lasted about five months, the agency’s sustainability team dealt with all the questions of the 20 criteria of the German Sustainability Code and answered them comprehensively. “We want to sensitize our company, our working environment and every single person in our agency to this important topic and enable them to become even more sustainable – along the entire value chain as a service provider in the areas of events, branding and communication,” says Sebastian Wiese, Managing Director of follow red. The answers formulated in the Code Declaration describe the attitude and activities of the Executive Board and employees to all key sustainability criteria. An existing product for the event sector is the “Change2Green” concept for more sustainable events: With this 360-degree principle, the organisers keep an eye on the ecological footprint in planning, implementation and communication from the very beginning.

Sustainable measures in areas such as energy, mobility, nutrition and the working environment have been anchored in the everyday life of the agency at follow red for many years. “For us, sustainable thinking and acting is not a hygiene factor and also not a goal that can ultimately be achieved,” emphasizes Ulrich Roth, agency founder and head of the sustainability team at follow red. “Rather, with the declaration, we see ourselves on a path where there is always something new to learn and things to improve.” In order to document this path, follow red will regularly update its sustainability declaration at the Code.

The time has finally come: The new brand campaign of Badische Wein GmbH has been on display since 7 April.
