Stuttgart, February 7, 2022. follow red has been nominated for the nationwide “Grand Prize for Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises” 2022. The award, whose theme this year is “Toward New Horizons,” honors small and medium-sized enterprises for their outstanding achievements and above-average growth. On September 17, 2022, the grand awards ceremony for the finalists and winners from Baden-Württemberg, Bavaria, Hesse, and Thuringia will take place.
Especially during the COVID-19 crisis, the importance of a healthy small and medium-sized business sector for a strong economy becomes particularly clear. For this reason, the Oskar Patzelt Foundation has been awarding the “Grand Prize for Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises” annually since 1995 to small and medium-sized enterprises that operate with strong values, a clear strategy, and a high degree of flexibility, and that remain full of innovative drive and investment potential despite setbacks. This is also reflected in this year’s motto, “Toward New Horizons.” Coinciding with the agency’s 35th anniversary, follow red—along with 2,125 other companies—has been nominated for the 2022 “Grand Prize for Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises” and has thus reached the first stage of the competition. What makes this special is that the agency did not apply on its own, but was nominated and qualified by the German Association for Small and Medium-Sized Businesses (BVMW).
This prestigious business award seeks to recognize small and medium-sized enterprises that have demonstrated above-average growth and outstanding performance. Five competition criteria are evaluated: the company’s overall growth, the creation and preservation of jobs and training opportunities, modernization and innovation, commitment to the region, service and customer focus, and marketing. Depending on the competition region, the judges from the Oskar Patzelt Foundation will select up to three winners and up to five finalists. The competition in the 16 federal states is sponsored by state premiers and ministers of economic affairs. On September 17, 2022, the grand awards gala for this year’s winners and finalists from Baden-Württemberg, Bavaria, Hesse, and Thuringia will take place; the names of the winners and finalists will be announced publicly for the first time that evening.
