follow red Publishes DNK Sustainability Statement

Stuttgart, September 19, 2022. follow red, the Stuttgart-based communications agency specializing in live experiences and brand communication, has reached the next milestone on its path toward greater sustainability with the publication of its declaration with the German Sustainability Code (DNK). “Think Green. Be Red” is the name of its initiative, through which it aims to further strengthen environmental, economic, and social aspects within the agency and in event- and communication-related client projects.

With their sustainability statement submitted to the DNK, the Stuttgart-based communications experts at follow red have published a comprehensive account of all their sustainability-related activities. It has been available on the DNK website since August 2022. In a process lasting about five months, the agency’s sustainability team addressed all questions related to the 20 criteria of the German Sustainability Code and provided comprehensive answers. “We want to raise awareness of this important issue within our company, our work environment, and among every single person at our agency, and empower them to achieve even greater sustainability—across the entire value chain as a service provider in the fields of events, branding, and communications,” said Sebastian Wiese, Managing Director of follow red. The responses outlined in the DNK declaration describe the stance and activities of management and employees regarding all key sustainability criteria. Additional information is also available on the agency’s website.

To underscore the importance of this initiative, follow red has established a cross-agency task force to oversee the activities of the “Think Green. Be Red” sustainability initiative. follow red applies the three well-known dimensions of sustainability—market, ecology, and culture—to its own business operations. One existing product for the events sector is the “Change2Green” concept for more sustainable events: Using this 360-degree approach, organizers keep the environmental footprint in mind from the very beginning—through planning, implementation, and communication.

At follow red, sustainable practices in areas such as energy, mobility, nutrition, and the work environment have been an integral part of the agency’s day-to-day operations for many years. “For us, sustainable thinking and action are neither a mere formality nor a goal that can ultimately be achieved,” emphasizes Ulrich Roth, the agency’s founder and head of the sustainability team at follow red. “Rather, with this statement, we see ourselves on a journey where there is always something new to learn and ways to improve.” To document this journey, follow red will regularly update its sustainability statement with the DNK.
