Stuttgart, January 22, 2021. To support Stuttgart’s cultural and music scene during the COVID-19 crisis, follow red launched the #KulturadventStuttgart initiative in December 2020 in collaboration with the event agency SKS Michael Russ GmbH, the Stuttgarter Jugendhaus Gesellschaft, and the digital agency smart7. The holiday fundraising campaign raised over 10,000 euros for artists from the region.
The COVID-19 pandemic continues; live performances and concerts cannot take place, and the cultural sector is in crisis. To show solidarity with Stuttgart’s cultural scene and support artists during these difficult times, follow red, SKS Michael Russ, the Stuttgart Youth Center Association, and smart7 launched #KulturadventStuttgart in December 2020. From December 1 through 24, a digital Advent calendar featured regional live acts every day and encouraged viewers to make donations. Participating artists included Duo Graceland, the Stuttgart Chamber Duo, Zam Helga, and Itchy, among others.
And the results are impressive: Thanks to the generous donations from many music lovers, over 10,000 euros were raised. “We never expected such a great result—we’re very pleased by this tremendous show of solidarity with our regional cultural scene,” says Sebastian Wiese, Managing Partner at follow red.
Together, the organizers—Sebastian Wiese (follow red), Luisa Gulden (smart7), and Paul Woog (SKS Michael Russ GmbH) presented the donation check on January 21, 2021, at LKA Longhorn to Ulrike Weinz of the Stuttgart Youth Center Association. The money raised will be distributed equally among all music projects.
