Continental Automotive – 100 Years of VDO Tachographs

In 2023, follow red developed an awareness campaign for Continental Automotive centered on the new second-generation intelligent tachograph, the DTCO 4.1, and the 100th anniversary of the VDO tachograph. The campaign supported sales of the new flagship tachograph and highlighted VDO’s history of innovation across multiple touchpoints.

Anniversary and Product Launch in a Single Campaign

2023 was a special year for Continental Automotive: The new second-generation DTCO 4.1 smart tachograph became mandatory for newly registered commercial vehicles, and at the same time, the VDO tachograph celebrated its 100th anniversary.

To achieve this, Follow red developed a campaign concept that brought together the past and future of the tachograph. The key visual drew inspiration from the round shape of the traditional tachograph disc and reimagined it with a modern look.

Visibility Across All Touchpoints

The campaign launch took place at transport logistic in Munich. Follow red developed the trade show storyline and designed the booth as a visible introduction to the campaign.

In addition, a 40-page bilingual anniversary booklet was produced, featuring high-quality content on the site’s history, technological developments, and the legal framework. Press releases, media relations at the Villingen site, trade show communications, and social media outreach rounded out the campaign.
